Entrant List for Dirty 2nd Half

I just put a updated entrant list up for the Dirty 2nd Half (about time). In the future I will try to have this list for all events so registrants can have a confirmation of their entry. Just click on the Dirty 2nd Half tab at the top of the page and scroll down to see the list.

Can’t wait for the race!

Almost to the barn!

Some pics from the course on the the last ride a couple of weeks ago. Since then we have had snow and plenty of rain so the trail is in prime shape. An elevation profile is eminent so keep an eye open and keep your fingers crossed for nice weather.

FLAGLINE MAP IS HERE!

Finally the map for the course is here! I am truly sorry this has taken so long but I think the wait was worth it. I spent tons of time trying to dial in this course and make it not just 50k but a great 50k. I think the course is a great mix of singletrack and dirt roads with great views and trails that wind through big trees and through sub alpine meadows.

Why change the start venue? Because starting from Wanoga no matter how I tried I couldn’t get a finish back to the snow park that didn’t involve some pretty boring dirt roads. Starting from Mt Bachelor serves as a great venue and when you get off the trail you have less than a mile on the pavement until you are finished. Also the views are pretty impressive from the trail you run in on rather than running through a logged forest on a dusty dirt road.

Please enjoy the map that was created by www.goodeyecreative.com CEO and ultra running fool Jeff Browning. He and other Central Oregon ultra runners have and continue to be a big help in making the Flagline 50k a reality.

What is in store for the Flagline 50k runners

Flagline 50k course recon 3.0

Ok patience I am sure are running a little thin. I have been riding around the trails like crazy since the Flagline trail opened trying to figure out the best route to challenge the folks running the 50k on the 25th of this month. I think I finally have the total package. Going out tomorrow to put a new section on the course and check the distance. I wholeheartedly believe that this is the right direction for the course so I will have this puppy put to bed this week. Thank you all for your patience and I hope training is going well. I will post the route just as soon as it is finalized.

Thank you,

dave
